The Difference Between Being Able To Eat Chocolate and Eating Chocolate
There is a real difference in eating chocolate and being able to eat it when you want…
Have a think about that for a second…
What if you could eat chocolate when you decided to rather than succumb to an impulse? I know that this may sound strange but honesty right now I have to prod myself to have some chocolate…
I go “okay I’ll have some” if I am out to dinner or something like that, which isn’t all the time…any other time I don’t eat a lot of chocolate…
But how can that be?
Well, a few months ago, it was a different story.
I love or loved my 85% cocoa chocolate, you know the stuff like Green and Blacks or Lindt that comes in the big bar. I would buy this a lot but like a good boy I might only have say a piece about 6 squares in size (for G&B) and 2 for Lindt per day
If you know these products you’ll get the gist…
I would normally have them at dinner time, with a cup of tea. As you do.
So it was only when I started losing my belly fat and learning about changing what I ate and how I exercised, that I made the conscious choice to NOT eat chocolate. This was one of the foods I stopped eating.
I didn’t buy the bars any more…I bought some nuts, in fact hazelnuts to start with, instead. And ate them for my dinner snack. At lunch I just didn’t have a chocolate bar, certainly not 3 or 4 times a week like I used to.
Pretty soon I had progressed onto to pistachios, peaches and pears… I also like walnuts now as well. But the bottom line was that I was avoiding the pure chocolate..and replacing the chocolate bar/candy bar types of food for something healthier as well when relevant
And then…a strange thing happened…
I remember standing in my old work (see the post on saving £1000 in 90 days part 2) in the coffee shop with all these bars of chocolate…and there I was making that face….
You know the one that goes like ‘ehhh nah don’t really feel like it’.
And this was over CHOCOLATE!!!
It’s a good job I’m not a woman…I think I just blasphemed.
Think about it..as if by magic I wasn’t getting the chocolate urge…in fact you could wave a bar of chocolate under my nose and 9 times out of 10 I wouldn’t take it…just didn’t feel like it….(I do eat chocolate occasionally now…maybe once a week but that’s it)
So the point to note here is that by deciding that I wasn’t going to eat chocolate every day, go off it for a while and replace it with something else …by just doing that one thing and keep doing it everyday…I BROKE THE CHOCOLATE HABIT
So…now I can eat chocolate if I want…not when it wants me to…
Now here’s the question:
Do you want to have that power as well?
Do you want to get it?….I bet you do
Try and replace your chocolate craving for 14 days with fruit, nuts, and oat bar or even some cereal…you can have at most 2 SMALL chocolate treats…
Go do it…and tell me if you like it or not below in the comments.
I want to know how you are getting on!
Show me you are alive!
